Frequently Asked Questions

How do I create an account?

You can sign up with email and password, Google, or Apple. Your family profiles, pantry, and menu plans sync across devices once you're signed in.

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

On the login screen, tap "Forgot password?" and enter your email. You'll receive a password reset link from Firebase. If you signed in with Google or Apple, you don't have a password โ€” just use those sign-in buttons.

How do I generate a meal plan?

Go to the Planner tab and tap the "Generate" button. Choose how many days (3, 5, or 7) and the AI will create a personalized weekly menu based on your family's dietary preferences, restrictions, and pantry items.

How does the fridge scan work?

Tap the Scan button in the center of the tab bar. Take up to 4 photos of your fridge or pantry. Our AI (powered by Anthropic Claude) will detect food items and add them to your pantry inventory. Photos are processed in real-time and never stored.

What are credits?

Credits are used for AI-powered features like menu generation, fridge scanning, ingredient substitution, and the cooking assistant. Free users get 15 credits/month, Pro gets 100, and Pro Plus gets 400. Credits reset on the 1st of each month.

How do I manage my subscription?

Go to Settings to view your current plan and credit usage. To change or cancel your subscription, use the App Store (iOS), Google Play (Android), or your RevenueCat billing portal (web).

Can my family share a meal plan?

Yes! Pro Plus subscribers can create a family group and invite members to share menus, pantry items, and shopping lists. Go to Settings to set up Family Sync.

How do I export my data?

Go to Settings and tap "Export My Data". This downloads all your data (profile, recipes, meal plans, pantry, ratings, and more) as a JSON file.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings, tap "Edit Profile", then "Delete Account" at the bottom. Your account enters a 30-day grace period โ€” if you sign back in within 30 days, it's automatically reactivated. After 30 days, all data is permanently deleted. You can also request deletion via our account deletion page.

Is my data safe?

Yes. All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS. Authentication is handled by Firebase (Google) with industry-standard security. Photos from fridge scans are processed in real-time and never stored. See our Privacy Policy for details.

The app says "AI-generated content". Is the nutrition data accurate?

AI-generated meal plans and nutritional information are estimates based on standard food databases. They should not be used as medical or dietary advice. Always consult a healthcare professional for specific dietary needs.

What languages are supported?

Eatbook is available in 7 languages: Ukrainian, English, Spanish, German, Italian, Chinese, and Polish. You can change the language in Settings or during onboarding.
