Terms of Service
Last updated: 28 May 2026
Welcome to Eatbook. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Eatbook mobile and web applications, including our AI-powered meal planning, pantry management, and recipe-generation features (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Eatbook.
Eatbook ("we", "our", "us") is operated as an independent software publisher. Contact: support@eatbookfamily.com.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Eatbook. By creating an account you confirm that you meet this age requirement. If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you represent that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity on your account. We use Firebase Authentication (by Google) to manage sign-in via email, Google, or Apple. We never see or store your password.
You agree to provide accurate registration information and to keep it up to date. One person per account; accounts may not be shared, sold, or transferred.
Eatbook offers a free tier with limited AI credits per month, plus paid subscriptions (Pro and Family) that unlock additional credits, features, and household sync. Current pricing is displayed in the app's paywall and on our website at eatbookfamily.com.
Payment will be charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the price of the selected plan. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings after purchase.
On the web, payments are processed by Stripe via RevenueCat; renewal and cancellation work the same way and can be managed from Settings in the app.
Refund policy is governed by the platform you purchased through:
If a free trial or promotional period is offered, you must cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged the regular subscription price. One trial per account.
We may change subscription prices from time to time. If a price change affects your active subscription, we will notify you in advance and allow you to cancel before the new price takes effect.
Eatbook uses Anthropic's Claude AI model to power the following features: weekly meal planning, meal regeneration, ingredient substitution, AI cooking assistant (chat), emergency 10-minute meals, cook-from-pantry recipes, special occasion menus, smart plan tips, and fridge photo scanning.
Before any data leaves your device for an AI feature, the app shows an in-app consent dialog that names Anthropic, lists exactly what data will be sent, lists what is not sent, and asks for your explicit permission. AI features are disabled until you accept and can be revoked at any time from Settings → "AI Features (Anthropic Claude)". A detailed breakdown of what is sent is in our Privacy Policy.
We do not guarantee that AI features will always be available or that AI-generated content will meet your expectations.
The household feature lets multiple people in the same home share meal-planning data on their personal devices. Joining or creating a household is opt-in: before either action completes, the app shows a consent dialog enumerating exactly which categories of data become visible to other household members.
By creating or joining a household, you agree that:
If a household member uploads or types content that is illegal, abusive, or violates these Terms, you can remove them from the household and report the issue to support@eatbookfamily.com; we may suspend the offending account.
You agree NOT to:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
You retain ownership of any content you create in the Service (family profiles, custom pantry items, meal ratings, etc.). By using the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, and process this content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
The Eatbook name, logo, app design, code, and any AI-generated content within the Service are owned by Eatbook or licensed to us. You may use AI-generated recipes and meal plans for your personal, non-commercial use.
Recipe images displayed in the Service are sourced from Pexels under the Pexels License (free for commercial use). Credit is not required but appreciated.
Eatbook enables access to services and websites operated by third parties (collectively, "External Services"). By using the Service, you also agree to the respective terms of:
You agree to use External Services at your sole risk. We are not responsible for examining or evaluating the content or accuracy of any third-party External Services and are not liable for any such third-party External Services. Data displayed by any External Service, including but not limited to nutritional, medical, financial, or location information, is for general informational purposes only and is not guaranteed by us or our agents. You will not use the External Services in any manner that is inconsistent with these Terms or that infringes the intellectual-property rights of us or any third party. External Services may not be available in all languages or in your home country and may not be appropriate or available for use in any particular location. You are solely responsible for compliance with any applicable laws when using them. We reserve the right to change, suspend, remove, disable, or restrict access to any External Service at any time without notice or liability.
You also agree to comply with the terms of any wireless data plan or other third-party agreement applicable to your use of the Service.
You may delete your account at any time from Settings in the app or via our account deletion page. Deletion removes your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms, abuse the Service, or engage in fraudulent activity. You will be notified of suspension unless doing so would prejudice an investigation or violate legal obligations.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, nor do we warrant that AI-generated content will be accurate, complete, safe, or appropriate for your particular dietary needs.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, EATBOOK AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, OR PROFITS, ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) fifty US dollars ($50).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitation or exclusion of liability for certain damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Eatbook, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ukraine, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of these Terms will be resolved in the competent courts of Ukraine, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws in your jurisdiction grant you the right to bring an action in your local courts.
The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods is expressly excluded from application to these Terms.
You may not use, export, or re-export the Service except as authorised by Ukrainian law and the laws of the jurisdiction in which you obtained the Service, and by United States law to the extent that the Service contains components subject to U.S. export jurisdiction. In particular, but without limitation, the Service may not be exported or re-exported (a) into any U.S.-embargoed country, or (b) to anyone on the U.S. Treasury Department's Specially Designated Nationals List, the U.S. Department of Commerce Denied Persons List, or the U.S. Department of Commerce Entity List. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are not located in any such country and not on any such list. You also agree that you will not use the Service for any purposes prohibited by United States law, including the development, design, manufacture, or production of nuclear, missile, chemical, or biological weapons.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Significant changes will be notified via email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The latest version is always available at eatbookfamily.com/terms.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Eatbook regarding the Service.
The following terms apply when you obtain or use Eatbook on an Apple iOS device through the Apple App Store. They are required by the Apple Developer Program License Agreement and supplement the rest of these Terms. In the event of a conflict between this section and the rest of these Terms, this section controls only with respect to the Apple-specific subject matter.
You acknowledge and agree that these Terms are concluded between you and Eatbook only, and not with Apple, Inc. ("Apple"). Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content. Eatbook, not Apple, is solely responsible for the Service and the content thereof, to the extent not otherwise stated in these Terms.
The licence granted to you for the Service is a limited, non-transferable licence to use the Service on any Apple-branded products that you own or control, and as permitted by the Usage Rules set forth in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. You may not distribute or make the Service available over a network where it could be used by multiple devices at the same time.

You acknowledge that Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to the Service.
Eatbook is solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. In the event of any failure of the Service to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price for the Service to you (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the Service. Any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty will be the sole responsibility of Eatbook.
Eatbook, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the Service or your possession and/or use of the Service, including but not limited to: (a) product liability claims; (b) any claim that the Service fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (c) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation, including in connection with the Service's use of the HealthKit and HomeKit frameworks.
You acknowledge that, in the event of any third-party claim that the Service or your possession and use of the Service infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, Eatbook, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement, and discharge of any such intellectual property infringement claim.
You represent and warrant that (a) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and (b) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
You may direct any questions, complaints, or claims with respect to the Service to:
Eatbook — support@eatbookfamily.com
You must comply with applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the Service (for example, your wireless data services agreement).
You and Eatbook acknowledge and agree that Apple, and Apple's subsidiaries, are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and that, upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary thereof.
