Michael Kevin Pollan is an American journalist specializing in food. He serves as a professor and the first Lewis K. Chan Arts Lecturer at Harvard University, and concurrently works as the Knight Professor of Science and Environmental Journalism and director of the Knight Program in Science and Environmental Journalism at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. At UC Berkeley, he cofounded the Center for the Science of Psychedelics in 2020 and leads its public-education program. His books explore food and eating habits in accessible ways, making them well suited for home cooks interested in the origins and rules of what they consume.
